Consciousness serves Its own purpose.
Consciousness manifests as form in order to experience Itself for a short while before resolving back into formlessness.
Consciousness appears as cycles of birth and death, growth and decay, creation and destruction.
You and I and the cat sleeping at my feet are all individualized expressions of the one Consciousness.
As a wave appearing on the surface of an endless ocean of bliss, Consciousness dances for a moment with Itself as other waves,
before disappearing again into the vast sea of Its own tranquility.
Consciousness forgets Itself in this dance and comes to believe it exists only as this particular wave.
And then It remembers.
